Internal Affairs

The Internal Affairs Unit conducted formal investigations of ten complaints involving members of the Kingsport Police Department in the physical year of 2006/2007. Of these cases, five were founded, two were unfounded, two were unsubstantiated, and one other was closed. A total of six informal inquiries were made, three were unfounded (allegation was not true) and three were unsubstantiated (allegation was not proven).

The Kingsport Police Department prides itself in the honesty, Integrity, and professional conduct of its employees. Internal investigations are a key part of maintaining those standards and are taken seriously.
