Under general supervision, performs a variety of duties for securing and monitoring incarcerated persons. Duties include prisoner searches, intoximeter testing, fingerprinteing, completion and maintenance of records and reports associated with the jailing processs; routines checks and inspection of detainees cells; processes/ completes release procedures. Requires high school education or equivalent; ability to follow oral and written instructions and apply appropriate independent judgment; strong technical computer skills allowing for the proper operation of computer based fingerprinting system; solid typing/keyboard skills; ability to work effectively in potentially combative and/or confrontational situations; ability to successfully pass a background investigation and psychological exam. Females will be given preference due to state jail/detainee coverage requirement. Work schedule will be rotating shifts and weekends. Hourly rate of $8.89.

POLICE OFFICER

Primary responsibilities are the protection of life and property, prevention of crime, apprehension of criminals and the enforcement of laws and ordinances. Requires the ability to act without direct supervison and exersize independent judgment in routine and complex emergency situations. Applicant must be 18 years or older, a US citizen, a high school graduate or equivalent, possess a valid driver's license, and be certifiable as a law enforcement officer by the TN Police Officer Standards and Training Commission. The initial phase of our employment process is a written exam that will be administered on a given date to all qualified applicants.

Primary work involves dispatching of police, fire and emergency service units in a computerized dispatch system environment. Work schedule includes rotating shifts and weekends. Requires high school education or equivalent; good oral and written communication skills; knowledge of the geography of the City and adjacent areas; ability to think and act quickly, calmly, and accurately in emergency situations and ability to perform multiple tasks simutaneously.
